Cedar Rapids Card Show
Cedar Rapids, IA - 12/11/2005
On a snowy Sunday morning, December 11, 2005, the CollectingResources.com team attended a card show in Cedar Rapids, IA. This was our first out of town show with a table for card sales.
Greg and Dan staffed the 6 foot table. We had our vintage card inventory and our modern cards. The show was poorly attended by the public, but about 15 dealers braved the snow and cold.
We paid $15 for a table, drove 70 miles each way and had total revenue of $42. All in all the show was financially a "bomb" for CollectingResources.com. We talked to 4-5 serious lookers and sold cards to 3 people. The plus was the other dealers. We met some nice folks and we were all suffering from the limited customer traffic. We returned to Cedar Falls at about 3:15 pm.
This venture in selling vintage baseball cards was a flop. We chatted with other dealers, Greg found some Derek Lee cards, and we asked a number of people to help create content for CollectingResources.com. Again I think we made some new friends.
